The Mark X and E-type in front of this building were prominent in a unique postwar event, the British Automobile Racing Club’s (BARC) 2,500 mile rally through the Eastern USA states in October 1962. They are in the courtyard of the British Embassy residence, Washington DC, designed by architect Sir Edwin Lutyens. Drivers are (right to left) Bunny Dyer (E-type), Viscount Boyne (Mark X), and G. Fulton Roberts (Rolls-Royce).
