...highly practical...reveals author's affection for their subjects.

Moses Ludel is a veteran truck mechanic and automotive writer. He was raised on a Nevada ranch where, in his parents' 1964 CJ-5, he roamed over seemingly endless public lands. After his discussion of the 1939 Willys-Overland military jeep - manufactured in wartime both by Willys and Ford - Ludel treats postwar Jeep designs and then suggests how to buy a vintage Jeep (parts are readily available.) He follow with instructions regarding how to trouble-shoot and work on Jeeps; these are similar in coverage to Chilton's paperback series on individual models, except that Ludel's treatment is more personal, safety conscious, and better illustrated. Ludel also has chapters on performance modifications and accessories. All you'd ever want to know about Jeeps.
