What is eBahn® Web?

eBahnŽ Web is an online subscription service available at http://www.ebahn.com which allows you to access automotive technical repair information from your computer.

http://www.ebahn.com has been designated by Volkswagen of America as its new and improved official site for aftermarket Service Information for Volkswagen and Audi.

How do I get access to an eBahn® Web Subscription?

eBahn® Web Subscriptions are available in 3 day, 30 day and 365 day increments. To access your subscription at any time, go directly to www.eBahn.com or click the eBahn® Subscriptions link in the top of any www.BentleyPublishers.com page.

Will I need to download anything?

No. This is a web based product and you do not need anything beyond an internet connection and a browser to use it. As with many websites some pictures will be cached in your temporary internet files to speed up your interface time.

Can I access my eBahn® Web Subscription from any computer besides my own?

Yes. You can access eBahn® Web from any computer because all license and security is controlled by your User ID and password at login.

Purchasing an eBahn® Web Subscription

Are the subscriptions automatically renewed? How do I make my subscription recurring?

You can choose to have automatic renewal when you order your monthly or yearly subscription. This option can be found in the shopping cart and can be chosen during check out.

How does the renewal of my subscription work?

If you have selected the 'renewal' option during the purchase of your subscription, we will attempt to charge your credit card three days before your subscription expires. You will be notified when we make this attempt as to whether it was successful or not. If so your new subscription will start immediately when your last one ends. If our attempt is declined we will attempt twice more over the next two days, and notify you each time. If your card is declined 3 times your subscription will end without renewal.

Do I have to change my username and password to get new subscriptions?

No. You should always renew subscriptions under the same username and password that you used for the initial subscription.

How can make sure I'm not on any Bentley Publishers mailing lists?

You can set your communications preferences in the https://www.bentleypublishers.com/membercenter/, which is accessible at the top of any Bentley Publishers web page. Log in using your email address and password and set your preferences under the Communications tab.

What do you do with my personal information?

Bentley Publishers will not sell or give away your personal information. For a more detailed explanation please see our Privacy Policy.

If I buy a 30 day subscription and decide that I like it so much that I want the 365 day, can the price of that 30 day subscription be put towards my 365 days?

At this time, we don't have a way to do this, so unfortunately no. Your 365 day subscription will begin after your 30 day subscription is finished.

What is your eBahn® Web refund policy?

Online access to eBahn® Web Subscriptions is non-refundable. For this reason, we strongly recommend that you browse through the website at http://www.ebahn.com to verify that the information you're looking for is available and that your computer can access it. You'll be able to view the headings and tables of content for the information within, but you won't be able to access the repair procedures. We also advise you to read through these FAQs to answer any potential questions.

Access and Use

I closed the window without logging out and I cannot get back in, what can I do?

By not logging out you have let the server think that you are still logged in, though you have closed the window, and you will have to wait until the session has timed out before you can log back in. It takes 15 minutes for a session to time out.

What if I forget my password?

If you forget your password you can request that it be emailed to the email address in your profile by clicking the "Forgot your password?" button on the login screen.

How do I change my password or other information?

Through the Account tab in the Member Center you can change your password and other information whenever you need to.

How often is the repair information updated?

Repair information is continually being added to eBahn.com. Additionally, many sections are continually getting revised. A folder titled "What's New" appears on the left hand column within each eBahn.com platform subscription.

What kind of internet connection do I need to access eBahn® Web?

eBahn® Web will behave like any other website. For most pages, a 56K connection will be fine, on some pages (like wiring diagrams) there will be a high volume of material and it may take slightly longer to view. If you plan on doing a large volume of work and do not have a T1 or Cable modem connection, we recommend our eBahn® Desktop manuals.

Which browsers is eBahn® Web compatible with?

At this time, we only support Windows Internet Explorer 6.0 and higher.

Can I view eBahn® Web on a Mac?

At this time, Mac computers are not supported.

Does eBahn® Web require secure sockets (http or https)?

Yes. For login you will need secure sockets. This will not be an issue for most users. Secure sockets are required on any pages that offer secure purchases over the internet.

Does eBahnŽ Web use any "cookies"?

I cannot see Adobe Acrobat files (wiring diagrams, technical bulletins). Why?

eBahnŽ Web uses Adobe Acrobat to display some files, such as wiring diagrams and technical bulletins. If you do not have this program you will not be able to view these files. Some users may have previously installed and customized a version of Acrobat or Acrobat Reader, which may cause the eBahnŽ Reader to not display certain information. To reconfigure Acrobat Reader, look over these instructions.
