What is eBahn^® Reader?

eBahn® Reader is a software application which allows you to access automotive technical repair information (eBahn^® Content Packs) from your computer.

What is an eBahn^® Content Pack?

An eBahn^® Content Pack is a chunk of automotive content that can be viewed from your computer through the eBahn^® Reader software application. Currently available eBahn^® Content Packs include platform based automotive repair information. When you purchase a repair manual on CD-ROM, you are purchasing an eBahn^® Content Pack and the eBahn^® Reader.

Security / Licensing Model:

You can register an eBahn^® Content Pack on two computers at a time. Each Content Pack comes with 2 seperate serial numbers that can be used on 2 seperate computers simultaneously.

We are committed to producing a world-class product. This requires significant and continuing investment. Because of problems with bootlegging we have implemented a robust licensing model for eBahn^® content packs. Each eBahn^® content pack (i.e. each vehicle platform) is unlocked with a content activation key. The activation process ties a serial number to a specific computer. We request information about who you are during the registration process including a valid email address which is required for activation and support of the software.

First-time content activation can be done directly over the web 24/7 at the BentleyPublishers.com Member Center, or over the phone during normal east coast business hours. First-time activation usually requires 2 or 3 minutes.

License Transfer:

eBahn^® Content Packs are designed with the flexibility to support two simultaneous installs. Each content pack is shipped with 2 serial numbers, both of which can be transferred once per calender year. In the future, we plan on offering the ability to purchase additional serial numbers for use on multiple computers simultaneously.

Compatibility

eBahn^® Reader and eBahn^® Content Packs are compatible only with Windows^® 2000 with Service Pack 2 or higher and Microsoft® Internet Explorer 6 or higher.

eBahn^® Reader upgrades and eBahn^® Content Pack updates

eBahn^® Reader enhancements and service packs will be available free of charge. The "Check for Updates" feature in eBahn^® 3 will allow you to check for updates to both content packs and the Reader and update to the newest version if applicable.
