Windows 95/98/2000: I don't have a modem or network card installed.

You do not need an active connection to the Internet to use the Audi Electronic Manual. However, if you do not have a modem or network card installed on your computer you are probably missing some Windows components that enable the Audi Electronic Manual to communicate your web browser. Please follow the directions below to install these components. You do not need to install any hardware (a modem or network card) to make this work.

1. Click the Start button located at the bottom left corner of your screen.

2. Click Settings.

3. Click Control Panel.

4. Double-click Network.

5. Click the Add button.

6. Double-click Adapter.

7. Select Microsoft from the list on the left-hand side.

8. Select Dial-Up Adapter from the list on the right-hand side.

9. Click the OK button.

   At this point, you may be asked to supply your Windows 95/98/2000 media. Follow the instructions until you return to the Configuration pane of the Network dialog box. Now you will see a number of components that were installed. If you wish, you can remove all but the Dial-Up Adapter.

10. Click the Add button.

11. Double-click Protocol.

12. Select Microsoft from the list on the left-hand side.

13. Select TCP/IP from the list on the right-hand side.

14. Click the OK button.

15. Select TCP/IP.

16. Click the Properties button.

17. Click the IP Address tab.

18. Click the Specify an IP Address option.

19. Press the Tab key.

20. Type 1.1.1.1 The Subnet Mask is not required.

21. Click the OK button.

22. Click the OK button.

    You will be asked if you want to re-boot now. Once re-booted, you're ready to run the Audi Electronic Manual.
