Peter Swinger
Following National Service, Peter Swinger entered the Civil Service, working with the USAF at RAF Bentwaters, then joined the motor trade and spent 12 happy years selling MG cars to members of the US armed forces at RAF Bentwaters and RAF Woodbridge.

Peter became hooked on motor racing from a very early age and decided on the very first occasion of seeing a car racing that this was going to be for him one day. His first formal connection with the sport was as a Spectator Marshall at Snetterton c1959/60, progressing to Course Marshall, Flag Marshall and then Observer. He was subsequently invited to be a Steward for the East Anglian Centre of the British Racing & Sports Car Club and later for the Royal Automobile Club Motor Sports Association, which is the governing body of the sport in the United Kingdom. He still undertakes these roles and in addition acts as a Steward for the Historic Sports Car Club.

In the mid-1960s he raced his own cars, acquiring a full FIA competition licence in the process. His cars were ex-works development Reliant Sabres and a Lotus 7.
