Per Schroeder

Per grew up during the late sixties and early seventies in the pits at the Pennsylvania-area hillclimbs and sprints that his father competed in. He started autocrossing at 18 with the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute sports car club, and then moved up to SCCA, winning quite a few National Tours, a few Divisional Championships and has taken trophies at Solo II Nationals.

He's gone through a herd of VW's, a BMW and a rut of Toyotas—his latest was a 1994 Celica ST. He recently finished the GRM Volvo 122s Amazon ... fun project! He's currently working on the MINI Cooper S BMW CCA Club Racing car for GRM and the 1969 911E for Classic Motorsports. He recently restored a Volvo 142S that he's writing about in Classic Motorsports. Rumor has it that he built a Dodge SRT-4 for Solo II competition in 2004. In 2005, he campaigned a 1991 Nissan Sentra SE-R in STX with his significant other, Kim. Now he's working on a Subaru Impreza for RallyCross and he and his wife bought a MINI Cooper for H Stock autocross.

Per is the Technical Editor at Grassroots Motorsports and Classic Motorsports magazines and also builds the website and organizes events like the GRM Challenges. When he's not thinking/breathing/living cars, he hangs around with his wife Kim and their two dogs, Max and Abby, both are Miniature Schnauzers. They are all way smarter than I am.
